Last year I had the pleasure of making a youth documentary about Keet Oldenbeuving. Getting to know her, skate with her and watch her grow was, simply put, amazing. Keet was the coolest kid ever to film, and I even got her to fall into a bath of pink muck. But I think the best times for both of us were just going out skating around and filming whatever we came across.
Now after being shown at Cinekid, IDFA and the Berlinale, it's time for SkateKeet to shine on your television. SkateKeet will be on Zapp (NPO 3) on Sunday the 6th of March at 19:25. Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it! Synopsis: Skatekeet is a documentary about Keet, a ten-year-old girl, whose skateboard skills have attracted attention in a skate world dominated by boys. Besides getting respect from her fellow skaters she also encounters lack of understanding from others. Keet glides through a world of pre-conceived opinions on how girls should be, while carving out her own path. Skatekeet Director: Edward Cook Camera: Jefrim Rothuizen, Edward Cook.
